A Need for New Products

There is a new group of consumers. Well, we've always been around but nobody noticed our invisible need for our own category of products. But the Covid-19 virus put this health condition, parosmia, in the spotlight.

Parosmia is a distorted smell disorder that affects the smell and flavor of most foods and drinks. It also alters the scent of many other commonly used products.

First, we need different food options and/or a special diet like other health concerns.

Think about it. There are so many specific diets these days...

  • Keto

  • Kosher

  • Heart healthy

  • Low sugar (diabetic)

  • Low calorie

  • Low fat

  • High protein

  • High fiber

  • Lactose-free

  • Nut-free

  • Gluten free

  • Organic

  • Plant-based

  • Vegetarian

  • Vegan

  • Weight loss

  • Weight gain

All the different products created to support specific diets:

  • almond milk, almond flour, almond butter

  • soy milk

  • coconut milk, coconut oil

  • vegetable oil

  • olive oil

  • sugar free candy

  • caffeine free drinks

There are even special diets and different flavors for dog and cat food.

(By the way, who is taste testing this pet food?)

Parosmia is not a lifestyle choice. It's a health condition that alters a person's lifestyle.

Come on food product developers & manufacturers, there is a huge market of parosmia sufferers who need to eat.

And that's just food...

Not only do we need a parosmia diet, we need a parosmia lifestyle category for all the other products needed for every day use.

  • Cleaning products - dish soap, laundry detergent...

  • Personal products - shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, make up...

  • TOOTHPASTE is a big issue. We need non-mint flavor options!

FYI, fragrance free is not always unscented.

There are so many missed opportunities for companies to create new products. It is my hope that new products from all categories can be developed for individuals with parosmia.
